Zukunft Personal: Utilising artificial intelligence in direct recruitment

Carerix is also active in the German market and works closely with commercial journalists to highlight trends within the market. This article is a translation of: Zukunft Personal: Künstliche Intelligenz bei der Direktansprache nutzen (German)

How big are the changes facing HR? This issue was at the heart of this year’s Zukunft Personal exhibition in Cologne. With a comprehensive programme, high-profile keynote speakers and more than 770 exhibitors, Germany’s largest exhibition for human resources attempted to provide answers.

770 exhibitors provide information on HR trends at Zukunft Personal

In keeping with the tag line ‘work:olution – moving minds’, the annual ‘Zukunft Personal’ exhibition for human resources in Cologne addressed the latest hot topic in the HR scene: working in a digital world. Between 19 and 21 September 2017, around 770 exhibitors and partners presented ranges, products and services designed for the working world 4.0. Carerix also had a stand. What’s more, well-known speakers travelled from across the world to examine and question the HR trends within human resources departments. To cover these issues, more than 450 presentations, lectures, keynote speeches and podium discussions were listed in the programme.

Charismatic speakers share their knowledge

The speakers included former Minister of State Prof. Julian Nida-Rümelin, amongst others. The science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar – well-known from his television appearances – also attended. He discussed the role of people in the (working) world 4.0. “Above all, I see immense progress in big data, artificial intelligence and the use of algorithms,” he said. He stressed the importance of the human defining the machine, rather than the machine defining the human. Barbara Wittmann, a member of the LinkedInTM Executive Team, agreed. In her keynote speech ‘Digital transformation and social recruiting – New ways of finding future talent’, she emphasised that, in her eyes at least, artificial intelligence will be the technology in the HR sector that will massively transform the recruitment process in the years to come. However, she stressed there are limitations. This technology could not take decisions away from humans.

How sourcing tools are supporting the direct recruitment of candidates

The HR software manufacturer Carerix also shared a similar attitude at its stand. Visitors were given detailed information about the direct recruitment of candidates using so-called sourcing tools, for example. The power of the technology that can now support people when active sourcing surprised many HR experts. Carerix expert Hans-Jürgen Benker explains everything you need to know about this topic in our video:
