PRESS RELEASE: Partnership Carerix and Sollicity bears fruit
Utrecht University is the first university in the Netherlands to use integrated software platform for insourcing external personnel & recruitment
Delft/Nijmegen, 22 April 2016 – Sollicity, the supplier of HR applications in the field of labour market infrastructure, has created an interface with the Carerix platform which makes it possible to offer Universities in the Netherlands a single integrated work-flow for recruitment, insourcing of external personnel and HR issues. Utrecht University will be the first institution to use this powerful, integrated solution by Carerix and Sollicity, which allows external recruitment to take place in accordance with its own policy and regulations. Another advantage is the significant reduction in administrative workload because several layers of administration are eliminated.
Sollicity has incorporated all services concerning labour market infrastructure into a single management system, within a safe environment that maximises benefits for employees. “Sollicity primarily focuses on large organisations featuring over 1,000 people, such as government bodies and learning institutions”, says Dirk Goossens, director at Sollicity. “It is great to collaborate with universities. They are innovative and students spend a lot of time focusing on their careers. So we can easily serve this target group, which will become part of the labour market in the near future.”
With one click of a button
The partnership with Carerix was established in 2014 when Utrecht University wanted to insource external personnel cheaper and more effectively, but in accordance with its internal policy, legislation and existing agreements with suppliers. Would it be possible for each of the 8,000 employees at Utrecht University to assign external jobs by themselves without prior approval? Goossens: “Together with Carerix, we were fairly quick in addressing this question, which appears difficult on first reflection. Whereas people previously needed an external party to insource external personnel for small jobs, the Carerix module means they simply have to complete a form and then press the ‘send’ button.”
Lower transaction costs
The solution consists of three portals. The customer/supplier portal; the portal for Utrecht University, which is only used to, for example, change procedures/rules; and the portal featuring the application form for external personnel, which is connected to the systems of UU. Besides the advantage of greater efficiency and reduced administrative workload, costs per transaction are also considerably lower. Certainly for smaller assignments where, previously, they were sometimes higher than the turnover realised in the transaction itself.
When it comes to universities, Sollicity is the market leader with its platform for labour market infrastructure. For example, the universities of Leiden, Rotterdam and Nijmegen have already implemented the Sollicity platform for all their employees. “Activating Carerix can be compared to simply pressing a button’, says Goossens.
Reinald Snik, director at Carerix: “Sollicity is an active reseller partner, which uses Carerix technology to provide integrated solutions that have been optimised for universities. An important role is played by the market know-how that Sollicity offers and implements when creating solid and effective solutions. This type of partnership is most beneficial to our shared customers.”
Dirk Goossens from Sollicity is very enthusiastic about the partnership with Carerix: “We jointly developed the solution for Utrecht University, even though it first looked like a mission impossible. Carerix provided the resources and assistance needed to make the process successful, and honoured all its promises. Carerix does not think within traditional concepts, but adopts a rational approach where they ‘try to achieve something great’. Just like us, they focus on customers and not just on technology.”
